You can offer your guests hors d'oeuvres in a variety of ways:

* Displays of dips and easy pick ups
* At themed Stations, with several small portion choices that may require a plate and fork
* Tapas and small plates, that have the small portion already plated for your guests easy pick up
You may select to offer your guests Heavy Hors D'oeuvres with some or all of these service styles. For a dinner meal, Irregardless' suggests:
* 3 - 6 passed 'Small Bites'
* 1 - 2 Displays
* 2 - 4 Stations
* 1 or 2 Tapas and Small Plates
