The champagne will be flowing this Saturday
Join us this Saturday evening, Feb 4th, 2012 at 9:30 pm for a champagne toast celebrating Irregardess' Cafe's 37 years of nourishing Triangle residents. All friends and patrons are welcome for the dance celebration featuring Jim Ferris' Jazz Trio.
Arthur Gordon opened the Irregardless Café on February 4, 1975, during a previous period of deep recession in the United States. As one of the Café’s first chefs, he created delicious, eco-friendly vegetarian meals. Over the years, tasty fish, poultry, beef and lamb have been added to the Irregardless Cafe menu.
The Irregardless Café has been a leader in environmentally and socially responsible behavior:
-
Recycling cardboard, glass, metal and compost,
-
Being the first restaurant in North Carolina to go non-smoking in 1984
-
Caring for his staff during the rebuilding of the Café, after the 1993 fire destroyed it.
-
Solar hot water heating for all the Cafe's needs installed in January 2012
Since the Cafe' founding in 1975, talented local musicians perform nightly during dinner and Sunday Brunch. Arthur also oversees Irregardless Cafe's full service catering division which serves corporate clients, as well as wedding and social needs.
Arthur's 37 years business success has recently been recognized by the Chamber with the Smith Seal Pinnacle Award for Lifetime Sustainability, the TBJ Green Business Leader Award, the City of Raleigh's Environmental Award for Market Transformation and the United Arts Council Award for Small Businesses Supporting the Arts.
